The Bulgarian multiplier event of the REACH OUT – Empowering Teachers to Become Trauma-Sensitive Schools project was held at 10th Primary School “Aleko Konstantinov” in Pernik on 28 May 2026. Organised by the Center for Educational Initiatives, the event brought together 25 teachers, educators, school leaders and school staff from the host institution and other local schools.

The main objective was to present the project results and support teachers in applying trauma-sensitive and psychosocial support approaches in everyday school practice. Following a welcome address by the school principal, participants were introduced to the project objectives and partnership, the curriculum analysis, the psychosocial support activities, the Lesson-Based Psychosocial Support Activity Preparation Guide for Teachers, and the REACH OUT E-Hub.

Special attention was given to the practical application of the activities across different school subjects and to the ways in which teachers can adapt the project resources to the age and specific needs of their students. During the final discussion, participants described the topic as highly relevant and positively assessed the practical orientation of the materials, the connection between curriculum objectives and psychosocial support, and the open availability of the resources through the project’s digital platform.

The event increased local teachers’ awareness of the role schools can play in supporting students’ psychosocial well-being after stressful or traumatic experiences. The Center for Educational Initiatives will continue disseminating the REACH OUT results and exploring opportunities to integrate the materials into future teacher training and school support activities.
