A press conference presents 4 European projects under the Lifelong Learning Programme
The computer, the mobile phone and the Internet changed the way of life – the way we work, communicate, have fun and even the way we learn. But did the schools and the teachers changed? How do they response to the challenge of a world, where the information is only “a Google” away? Is the teacher ready for a new role – not the one of the information’s monopolist, but the one of the guide, who turns the information’s abundance into a tidy and structured tale? Is he ready to accept the student as a partner, when it comes to dealing with the present’s challenges?
Did we, the parents, change? Do we study or play with our kids in front of the computer? Are we ready to study with them? They play, surf and chat online. But not with us! We have fun, too. But not with them! The children are the wizards of the keyboard, the gods of the games! On that account, we are masters in thinking and being careful with the information. But not the kids!
Answers to these questions were given by representatives of “Parents” Association, Center for educational initiatives and the Department for Information and In-Service Training of Teacherse during the press conference in the Bulgarian News Agancy building on December 14. The theme was “Partnership for modern education – four European projects under the Lifelong Learning programme"
